The Women's basketball team was lead out onto the floor in Friday night's contest @ Hilbert by a very special guest. Danielle Palisin, daughter of Fredonia State baseball coach Matt Palisin, wore her favorite jersey helped to bring the Blue Devils onto the floor and helped to lead them to a non-conference victory. The entire Palisin family was there to help support the Women. Way to go Danielle!

Player Profiles Kaylyn Billups # 20 and Samantha Johnson # 5
Kaylyn is a sophomore from Buffalo NY. She attended a Charter school in Buffalo and is currently a pychology major and she hope one day to be a psychologist. She is the daughter of Kimberley and Randall Billups
Samantha is a sophomore from Letchworth High School in Warsaw NY. She is a childhood inclusive education major and hope to become an elementary education teacher one day. She is the daughter of Robert and Carol Johnson.

Player Profile Jaimie Warren junior #55
Jaimie Warren is from Lakeview New York. She was born on June 20, 1992. She is currently a junior at Fredonia State and is majoring in Business finance. She hopes one day to be a Financial Advisor. Sports and particularly basketball runs through her entire family. Most of Jaimie's cousins and her brother play basketball. It is a sport that Jaimie not only loves to play, but loves to watch as well. Her favorite team is the Boston Celtics and Rajon Rondo is her favorite player. when she is not watching basketball, her favorite show is "Grey's Anatomy."
Her friends and family are what holds her together. Jaimie credits them with being her support. Jaimie's parents come to almost every game, even though it may be far journey. Her team is like a family to her also. The friendships that she has developed over the years are ones she will never forget.

Player Profile Becky Hebert #23 junior
Becky Hebert is from Hilton, NY. Her birthday is on February 24th. She is currently 20 years old. Becky is a Math and Math Education major. She loves her family very much and she and her brother and sister are very close. Her sister plays basketball for Alfred University. Her brother is doing research at U of R and getting his P.H.D. in statistics. Becky's mother has always been her role model. Her favorite TV shows are "Friends" and "How I Met Your Mother." She loves Leonardo Dicaprio and James Franco. Becky's favorite place to be is Disney World and her family vacations there every other year. This year she going to Europe for the first time in May.
Becky really enjoys playing basketball, traveling, being with friends and family.

Heading to Behrend Tip-Off Tourney
The team headed to Penn State Behrend on Saturday for an 8 o'clock tip off in the first round of the Tip-Off tourney. Before heading out, the team decided to have a pregame meal at Wing City Grill. The ladies will conclude the tourney on Sunday before heading home to play on Tuesday night.

Player Profile Anna Riley #33 Senior
Anna is from Massena NY and was born on May, 24, 1991. She enjoys being with friends, traveling, playing sports, and just being by the ocean! Anna will be graduating in May with a degree in Business Administration and Marketing with a minor in visual arts and new media and she is currently carry a 3.6 GPA. She spends a lot of time in her office in the Williams Center working as the business manager for The Leader, and just recently spent 4 days in Chicago at the 91st annual associated college press conference. Her teammates and friends at school have been like a family to her for the past three years. She is truly going to miss them on and off the court next year. Anna is sad that this will be her last year at Fredonia but she is extremely excited to see what her future has to hold! She hopes to live and work in a large city within the year after graduation and eventually end up in the marketing or advertising departments for a large company. Anna lives about 6 ½ hours away so she is pretty excited to see her family over the Christmas break. Her brother Conor plays Division 1 Hockey at the University of Maine and she is hoping to be able to catch a game or two over break.

The women's basketball team opens it's season in Steele Hall on Thursday November 15th at 7:00 PM. After several scrimmages and weeks of practice, the Blue Devils look to get their season off to a roaring start. Come out and support the Fredonia State Women's team!

Player Profile Grace Moore #22 Senior
Grace Moore was born on November 13, 1990.That makes #22 almost 22 years old!
This week's birthday girl will be graduating in May with a degree in International Studies with a concentration in Developing Nations and a minor in Political Science.. She also ran for two years as a member of the Track and Field team, member of the school record holding team for the 4x400 meter relay.
Grace took the last year off from basketball to study abroad in Ireland. She did an internship with an international not-for-profit agency based in Dublin, doing work in Ethiopian charity development.

Player Profile Jenna Austin #14
Jenna is from Cherry Creek NY. She was born on April 29th, 1991. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys sports, camping, and traveling. She has several fond memories of being at FSU. She has made many friends that have turned into family. She also points to all of the time she has spent with her team for the past 4 years.
She is an Exercise Science major currently carrying a 3.6 GPA. She is also a certified trainer. Her plans for the future include starting her own business in fitness because she loves the fulfilling feeling of helping others lead a healthier lifestyle.
She is getting her own puppy next week and will be naming her Maddie.

Pool and Pizza Party!

The Men's and Women's basketball team again reached out to the children of the surrounding area. Both teams hosted a Pool and Pizza party that invited the kids to come and swim and have a good time. The athletes supervised and Pizza was provided. A good time was had by all. It was another great way for the Fredonia State athletes to connect with the local community.

Kids' Night Out 2012

The teams began hosting Kids' Night Out in 2004. This years even drew over 100 kids in grades first through sixth. The Blue Devils supervised and participated in a bevy of activities with the kids, including basketball, soccer, kickball and swimming.
The teams have found it to be a great way to give back to the community as well as serve as role models for the children they come in contact with. Well done Blue Devils!
