Introducing: Kaylyn Billups Senior #21
My name is Kaylyn Billups. I’m from Buffalo New York and I graduated from Charter High School for Applied Technologies. I am currently a senior majoring in psychology and minoring in business administration. After graduation I hope to attend graduate school studying higher education. Basketball runs in my family. My brother played two years at Medaille and my cousin Amir played here at Fredonia until graduating in 2013. The main reason I came to Fredonia was to play basketball. Once I found out that I had gotten a chance to continue playing the game that I love so much it was no turning back. Fredonia is a great place to play and I’m happy I furthered my education here.

10th Annual Fall Sweep!
Community Service "LEAFS" a good feeling
The team participated in 10th Annual Fall Sweep community service project on Sunday, November 9th. The project organized by the ACA and attended by more than 700 Fredonia students was a HUGE success on a cold and damp morning.
Everyone met in the Williams Center and the team readied itself for the Sweep by having a little breakfast and listening to President Horvath, Vice President Herman and dignitaries from the ACA. Once they had finished speaking, the team headed to their destination on Central Avenue. Joined by the Women's Tennis team and Sigma Gamma Phi sorority, the team moved a mountain of leaves, much to the delight of the Presbyterian Church followers that provided donuts and cider to the "sweepers."
The team was visited by President Horvath and her furry friend, "Freddy." The team really enjoyed working together and as Emily Barrett commented, "...Enjoyed working together with my whole team." Job well done!

Athletes Supporting Athletes 2014
The girls headed to campus on Saturday, October 4th to support athletes in some of the fall sports programs. After stopping to watch some tennis, the team headed over to the soccer stadium to watch a very exciting men's game between the Blue Devils and rival Buffalo State. After braving the elements complete with face paint and t-shirts, the team then ventured into Dods Hall to watch the Blue Devil women's volleyball game.
It was a great experience to support the other teams and their athletes and coaches.

Fredonia Women's Basketball Beach Sweep
2014
The Fredonia Women's basketball team participated in the 2014 Great Lakes Beach sweep on Saturday, September 20th. It was a beautiful fall day and was attended by the players and coaching staff. The sweep was organized by the Fredonia Biology department. The data collected will be posted on the Biology site and will be used to further the education about pollution and how to combat it in the future throughout the Entire Great Lakes Region
The Material collected was sorted and counted and weighed to give exact data for closer examination. The team collected over 8 and one half pounds of unique material to add to the study.
The team feels that community service projects are an important part of being a student-athlete at Fredonia. Junior captain Katie Devine said, "...it was interesting to see how much trash there was and how such little pieces could really damage the wildlife."
