Women's Hoops Splits in Allegheny Tourney, Hebert tabbed to all-tourney team

      The Women's basketball team split a pair of games this weekend at Allegheny college's  Greg Richards Memorial Tip-Off Tournament. On Friday they defeated Marietta College from Ohio 60-58 in a thrilling last second win. Becky Hebert followed up a missed shot with 6 seconds remaining to give the Blue Devils their first victory of the season. On Saturday, the Blue Devils fell behind early and made a couple of second  half runs before finally falling to a very talented Allegheny team. senior Becky Hebert from Hilton NY was named to the All-Tournament team. The Blue Devils are on the road Tuesday at Nazareth College in Rochester before returning home for Saturday's home opener.

The Women's basketball team had a team-building night together after their first full week of practice. The first order of the evening was to have a meal together in the Bob Steele Room. Stories about family and good food were the order of the first half of the night.

 

The evening was capped off by a pumpkin carving event that was designed to have each team member carving a pumpkin to best represent her personality. The team had a great time getting to know each other on a different level and some even ended the evening with a pumpkin seed bake off. What a great way to finish a weeks of hard work! New head Coach Linda Hill-MacDonald was very impressed at her team's creativity. Micky Mouse as well as Myley Cyrus were represented among other interesting characters.

Alumni Game On Homecoming weekend!

This year's women's basketball alumni game will be played at Steele Hall on Saturday October 12, 2013 at NOON. Refreshments to follow. If you are planning on attending, please contact assistant coach Rich Norton at norton@fredonia.edu ASAP! We are looking forward to seeing you there! 

All SUNYAC TEAM

Congratulations to Becky Hebert and Jaimie Warren for their post-season awards! Both Juniors were honored by the SUNYAC conference with awards. Hebert (Hilton) was tabbed to the second team ALL-SUNYAC team while Warren (Lakeview) was named as third team ALL-SUNYAC. A job well done! 

Saying Goodbye to our Seniors!

Playing in their final game this season are three seniors who have given their all and epitomize what being a Blue Devil is all about. We are proud to have had them in the Blue and White and they will be missed by their teammates, coaches and fans alike. Congratulation goes out to Jenna Austin (Pine Valley) Anna Riley (Messina) and Grace Moore (Fredonia).

Hebert Eclipses 1000 career points & Women Win

Junior Becky Hebert surpassed 1000 career points early in the first half on her way to scoring 28 points to lead the Fredonia State women to victory over Oswego. Congratulations Becky!

SUNYAC player of the week Jaimie Warren

Congratulations to Jaimie Warren on being named as player of the week in SUNYAC conference play. She had a monster weekend and helped the women to two victories allowing them to climb back into the playoff race. Jamie is a junior from Lakeview NY.
